Donal R. Pettit, Ph.D.
NASA Astronaut
The International Space Station offers a place that is rich in discovery and challenges our Earth-honed intuition on a daily basis. As is characteristic of any frontier, what is learned by being there enriches our minds and tickles our imagination. Dr. Don Pettit, a veteran of three space flights, will share techno-stories from his living and working in space.
Pettit is a native of Silverton, Ore., and a 1978 graduate of Oregon State University. He earned a doctorate in 1983 from Arizona State University and worked as a scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory before being selected as a NASA astronaut in 1996.
