Farmer networks are a great way for farmers to exchange information, socialize, learn and connect with peers. During this half-day session, learn the fundamentals of starting and managing a farmer network. The presenters are from Oregon State University’s Small Farms program and recently published a manual on creating farmer-to-farmer networks. They will cover examples of successful networks around the Northwest, network startup, program planning, surveying farmers, organizational structures, communicating with your network, facilitating network meetings and challenges related to maintaining your network.
