Justice Forward: Tribes, Climate Adaptation and Responsibility

Spring Creek Project presents: Kyle Powys-Whyte

Thursday, April 11, 2013 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Federally-recognized tribes must adapt to rising sea levels, shrinking glaciers, and a host of other ecological challenges associated with climate change. Their efforts are often constrained by political obstructions, which give rise to concerns about justice.

This lecture will identify a system of responsibilities, ranging from webs of inter-species relationships to government-to-government partnerships, to motivate a shift to a forward-looking framework for supporting the continued flourishing of tribal communities.
