Know 'em in order to grow 'em

Wednesday, July 31, 2013 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Tree indentification is more than just knowing what you've got planted in the backyard or an entire forest.  Is your tree native to the region?  Is it suited to the area?  Whether a tree is going to survive and thrive for years to come depends on number of factors including:  Species; Sun or shade tolerant; soil quality; water; susceptibility to insect & disease; animal issues; seedling availability; stock type.

Dave Shaw OSU Forest Health Specialist, will be in attendance to assist in discussing and evaluating various abiotic and biotic interactions with various tree species and the implications of their survival.

The tour will be at the Elkton Community Education Center.

Pre-registration is encouraged.
