Kai's research is centered around evaluating sampling and data analysis methods from studies in southeastern China that can eventually be applied nationwide as part of a national stream and river monitoring program in China.  He is currently working with Dr. Chuck Hawkins' team at Utah State University, where he has a 1-year internship as part of his Ph.D. research program, and he has recently had a manuscript accepted by Ecological Indicators that involves alternative predictive models for assessing macroinvertebrate assemblage condition.
