Li Wan Chang, Taiwan Forestry Research Institute, National Taiwan University: “A Forester’s Journey Through the Complex Landscape of Sustainable Forest Management – Lessons Learned in Oregon”

Li Wan Chang is a research assistant at the Taiwan Forestry Research Institute, and a current Fellow of the World Forestry Institute. She received her Masters degree in forest conservation and she is currently a PhD candidate at the National Taiwan University in Taiwan. Her main research focus is on forest dynamics in the subtropical forest in Taiwan. Li Wan’s project during her WFI fellowship is focused on applying forest ecology theories in sustainable forest management. Her goal at WFI during her Fellowship is to learn how to use her knowledge of forest ecology theories (such as gap theory and species coexistence theory) in sustainable forest management applications in Taiwan.
