Literary Northwest Series

Poetry Reading by Charles Goodrich & Mary Szybist

Charles Goodrich is the author of three volumes of poems, A Scripture of Crows, Going to Seed: Dispatches from the Garden, and Insects of South Corvallis, and a collection of essays, The Practice of Home. He also co-edited the volume In the Blast Zone: Catastrophe and Renewal on Mount St. Helens. He presently serves as Director for the Spring Creek Project for Ideas, Nature, and the Written Word at Oregon State University.

Mary Szybist is the author of  Granted which was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, and Incarnadine. a finalist for this year’s National Book Award.  She is the recipient of a fellowship from the NEA, a Witter Bynner Fellowship from the Library of Congress, a Pushcart Prize, and a residency from the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center.  She lives in Portland, Oregon, and teaches at Lewis & Clark College and the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers.
