Songs by African-American Composers (Concert)

Carren Moham, soprano

Carren Moham teaches at Illinois Wesleyan University where she is a professor of music and voice. She has performed numerous roles for major opera companies and sung with renowned symphony orchestras in the U.S. and abroad. Moham has won awards in several prestigious vocal competitions, among them the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and the Leontyne Price Vocal Competition. She has given concerts and lectures on African-American composers and the influences of Negro Spirituals throughout the U.S., Europe and South America, including a special arts program for former President Bill Clinton and former First Lady Hilary Rodham Clinton.
